Tapora prints and ships every order from Malta. For customers in Malta itself, that means next-day delivery. For the EU, it usually means 3–5 working days. For the rest of the world, it depends — and this post explains exactly what to expect, what we charge, and how customs are handled.

Where Malta sits on the shipping map

Malta is a Mediterranean island, part of the European Union, with no land border. Every package leaves by air or sea. That sounds like a complication — but Malta's daily flights to Frankfurt, Rome, London, and Amsterdam mean EU shipping is faster from Malta than from a lot of mainland-EU warehouses you might expect to be quicker.

Malta: 1–2 working days

Local Malta orders go out via local courier same-day or next-day. €X flat rate (see the cart for current pricing), with free shipping above the threshold.

EU: 3–5 working days

Standard EU delivery is 3–5 working days for most destinations: Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Benelux, Ireland. Slightly longer for Eastern Europe (5–7 working days). All EU shipments are duty-free — no customs forms, no surprises at the door, no additional fees on arrival. This is the single biggest advantage of shipping from inside the EU.

UK: 5–7 working days, customs handled

Post-Brexit, UK orders cross a customs border. We handle the paperwork — your package arrives with all duties pre-calculated at checkout, so there's no "courier asking for €15 on the doorstep" moment. Delivery typically runs 5–7 working days.

Rest of world: 7–14 working days

The US, Canada, Australia, UAE, and most other destinations ship via international tracked mail. Delivery typically takes 7–14 working days. Customs and import duties are the recipient's responsibility, except where the destination's de minimis threshold means small orders pass duty-free (e.g. US orders under $800).

Free shipping threshold

Orders above a configurable cart value ship free worldwide. The threshold is set per-region and shown live in the cart. For bulk orders this is almost always reached automatically — the threshold exists to absorb shipping cost on routine multi-unit orders, not to upsell.

How we package

Every order ships in a small recyclable cardboard box, with the keychains/badges in tissue paper inside. No plastic, no oversized boxes, no marketing junk. Padded envelopes are used for smaller orders where the cardboard box would be wasteful.

Tracking

Every order gets a tracking number emailed when it ships. EU orders track door-to-door. Rest-of-world orders track to the destination country, then switch to the local postal service's tracking (which is usually less detailed than the original carrier's).

What can delay an order

 • Custom logos requiring revision — if your uploaded SVG doesn't pass our automated quality checks, we email you within 4 hours. Once approved, the print queue continues normally.
 • Public holidays in Malta — Malta observes ~14 public holidays a year. We post current shipping delays on the cart page during these windows.
 • Carrier strikes / weather — outside our control. Tracking will show the delay.

Lost packages

EU orders that don't arrive within 10 working days, or rest-of-world orders that don't arrive within 21 working days, get a free replacement shipped — we file the carrier claim, you get the product. The €X-of-customer-trust we keep matters more than the €X-of-product-cost.

Returns

Tapora products are made to order, which means we can't accept returns of personalised items (custom logos, programmed NFC codes). Standard catalogue items can be returned within 14 days unopened. Full policy at /returns.

Wrap-up

Shipping from Malta isn't a disadvantage — it's actually a quiet advantage for EU customers who avoid customs delays entirely. For the rest of the world, transit times are honest and tracking is real. Most of all: we ship every order ourselves, from our own workshop. If something goes wrong, the person who responds is the person who packed the box.
